Carol
Gildar is an accomplished painter in watercolor. She is enthused by the
vibrancy of the watercolor medium and the transparency of color on paper.
Her watercolor paintings convey a sense of color and light and capture
the essence of her subjects in a style of impressionist realism. Carol
also paints oriental watercolor in the sumi-e style on rice paper in floral
and insect motif. Carol enjoys working in detail and her still lifes reflect
character, texture, color and mass. Her travels to France, Greece, Italy, New
Zealand and throughout the United States provide a range of work that
has been
represented in shows at the Pen and Brush Club (New York), Chicago, Wisconsin
and California. She
has won many awards for her work and has been honored for one of her watercolors
from the National Academy of Design Museum in New York City. |
